KATO' by Hiroshi Kato crafts premium selvedge denim inspired by the classic vintage blue jean. Their Premium Japanese 4-Way Stretch Selvedge denim story starts in Japan where the fabric is developed at one of the oldest denim mills. KATO blends a unique 4 way stretch material with selvedge denim to create a specific amount of stretch and comfort you wouldn’t typically get with selvedge denim. This 360 degree of stretch gives the wearer comfort from every angle no matter what they are doing. KATO's 4-Way Stretch selvedge fabric is woven using vintage shuttle looms. Rolls of denim fabric are then brought into the workshop in Los Angeles where each pair goes through a 60 to 90 day process of cut, sew, washing and testing. With 4 fits available in multiple weights and washes, the style options are endless.

KATO's 14oz Natural Slub Selvedge Denim are intended to more accurately reproduce the feel of vintage selvedge denim, so it does not feature the same 4-Way-Stretch as KATO's 10.5 and 14oz denims. Instead, this 100% cotton selvedge denim will break in and mold to you, making it a pair you will want to wear for years. KATO wanted these jeans to be vintage down to the core details, so they introduced a button fly with donut style laurel leaf buttons, which have been acid dyed to give them an authentic aged look.
